Holiday Lights Contest & Food Drive: Results!!!!

Light Up Greenwood Hills is this weekend!
Vote by donating nonperishable food items
Friday, December 16 – Sunday, December 18.

Greenwood Hills’ sixth annual holiday lights contest and food drive is here! This is our community service project of the year. We are partnering with local Boy Scout Troop 317 to enable them to earn merits for community service. The scouts will collect the food items donated each night. All food collected goes to the Network of Community Ministries of Richardson. Our goal this year is to collect 1000 food items! This is such a wonderful way to give back to our community while enjoying our neighbors’ holiday lighting displays. ALL surrounding neighborhoods, not just residents of Greenwood Hills, are invited to come vote and help us reach our goal. Invite your friends and relatives too!

Vote for your favorite house or houses by placing nonperishable food items in the house’s collection box anytime from Friday, Dec. 16 through Sunday, Dec. 18. Each item collected counts as one vote. Stuffing of boxes is encouraged!

I realize that the weather ( with the wet & cold Friday & Saturday nights and the windy & cold Sunday)  had a big impact on our collections this year to reach 1000 items, but this was great and appreciated very much!  THANKS TO ALL and  Have a HAPPY and HEALTHY HOLIDAY!!
