The 2nd truck load 😉
Due to State & City regulations of size of meetings during the Covid 19 pandemic, GHNA will not have the Annual Business meeting this year. The purpose of the meeting was to share a Recap of the year, Report of the treasury, Elections of Board Members, collect Memberships dues and gather Ideas for the upcoming year.
Go to the CONTACT heading to find the names of the Volunteers for the new board that was approved by Acclamations:-) They will appreciate your support in going forward in GHNA.
There are many opportunities to volunteer!
*The Richardson Network is always in need of volunteers as well as food and clothing items,
*Our neighborhood Crime Watch Patrol need more patrollers to help keep our area safe,
*The Member-at-Large committee chairpersons needs help even if for only an hour or two 🙂 especially during planned Events.
The much needed money for the signs to honor Officer Sherrard has been collected through the GoFundMe drive and private donations! The signs on Central (Hwy 75) along the Richardson city limits will be installed soon. We are grateful to all donors and look forward to seeing them soon. Thank you all!
THE TEXAS LEGISLATURE RECENTLY PASSED A BILL DESIGNATING HIGHWAY 75 (CENTRAL EXP) IN RICHARDSON AS THE OFFICER DAVID SHERRARD MEMORIAL HIGHWAY.
There was agreement among the lawmakers that NO public funds would be necessary to fund the two highway signs; the Texas Department of Transportation’s estimated cost is $24,168. The Richardson Citizen Police Academy Alumni Association is raising funds to purchase the two memorial signs through the GoFundMe account so that signs can be purchased to honor Officer Sherrard who died in the line of duty protecting Richardson citizens.
GoFundMe link to contribute is as follows: https://www.gofundme.com/OfficerSherrard
This notice was sent by COR Community Services Administrator, Lindsay Turner.
GHNA and many residents had sent flowers, food and condolences for Officer Sherrard’s memorial service last year and we certainly want to help raise the needed funds for the two signs along the Richardson area of Central Expressway (Hwy 75)
